Environmental Management

Marshalls is working to introduce ISO 14001 for Environmental Management at each of our manufacturing sites. By June 2006, 17 of our sites were accredited to ISO 14001, representing over 65% of the Group’s manufacturing output.

Reducing water usage

Reducing the amount of water used throughout Marshalls is a key environmental target. We reduced the use of water from mains and boreholes by 30% between 2003-2005 by greater use of recycled water and harvested rainwater.

Increasing efficiencies

At the Ramsbottom site alone in 2006, a zoned water and materials recycling system has reduced water consumption by 2,350,000 litres per annum and waste going to landfill by 7,000 tonnes per annum.
